Police have identified the woman who was shot multiple times inside of her Clarksville home. The shooting happened around 4 a.m. on Wednesday at a home on the corner of Harrison Avenue and Roy Cole Drive.A probable cause affidavit says Thomas A. Smith was charged with murdering a woman, now identified as Michelle Slaughter. According to the documents, a witness told police she was walking out the door of the home when Smith brushed past her to go inside.Shortly after, she heard Smith and Slaughter arguing. Slaughter said something like, “I don’t care, just take everything” before the witness heard two loud bangs.She said Smith ran out of the residence and took off in a truck. He was captured that morning by the sheriff’s office in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Officers arrived at the home and Slaughter was still alive for a short time before dying at the scene. They said it appears she was shot two to three times and had bruising on her face, chest and more.The affidavit did not mention the relationship between the victim, suspect and witness. Police said Thursday that Smith is facing multiple charges including murder. The Clarksville police chief said there is an autopsy scheduled for Slaughter for Thursday morning.
