Man shot to death during altercation in Nelson County, deputies say

An altercation that stemmed into a shooting left a man dead in Nelson County.The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Lawrenceburg Road in Chaplin just before 9 p.m. on Thursday for reports of “trouble call.”Deputies said that trouble call quickly turned into a shooting, and when they arrived on the scene, they found Darrell McClain, 33, Heath, Ohio, dead.According to officials, Calvin Woford, 36, of Bardstown, “was holding the pistol and McClain was shot” during an altercation.Woford was transported to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office before being taken to the Nelson County Jail, where he was charged with manslaughter 2nd degree. The investigation is ongoing.
