WLKY Chief Meteorologist Jay Cardosi’s Forecast

METEOROLOGIST JAY CARDOSI. ALL RIGHT AFTER THE RAINFALL OF EARLIER TODAY, THE QUIET WEATHER HAS ONCE AGAIN PUSHED BACK IN IT WAS NICE TO SEE SOME OF THAT LATE DAY SUNSHINE. AND RIGHT NOW WE HAVE CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES MORE IMPORTANTLY WE ARE DRY NUMBERS TODAY 60 AND E WE CHECKED IN WITH 14/100 OF AN INCH OF RAINFALL THIS MORNING PRIMARILY OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW AGAIN, IT’S CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY. WE’RE DOWN TO 53 DEGREES HUMIDITY ABOUT 70% A WEST SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE BETWEEN FIVE AND 10 MILES AN HOUR. CHECK OUT SOME OF THE OUTLINE REGIONS A LOT OF UPPER 40S NOW STARTING TO SHOW UP ACROSS THE VIEWING AREA TO THAT MILDER 53 IN TOWN SAME IN PAOLI BEDFORD AND THEN OFF TOWARDS THE SOUTH AND THE KINGSBURG AREA RIGHT AROUND 53 AS WELL. OKAY, THERE GOES THE RAINFALL OF EARLIER NOW WELL OFF TO THE EAST IN THE MID-ATLANTIC SKIES CONTINUE TO CLEAR OUT AROUND THE VIEWING AREA. WE HAVE THAT LITTLE POCKET OF CLEAR SKIES RIGHT OVER US RIGHT NOW A COUPLE OF HIGH SERIOUS CLOUDS, BUT THAT’S JUST ABOUT IT. AGAIN. THE RAIN IS MOVING AWAY WHAT WE ARE WATCHING A LITTLE REINFORCING SHOT OF COOL AIR MARKED BY THAT LITTLE COLD FRONT RIGHT THERE. IT’LL SWING THROUGH HERE QUIETLY TONIGHT. BUT AGAIN, IT’S JUST GOING TO KIND OF REINFORCE THE COOL AIR ALREADY IN PLACE. SO DON’T LOOK FOR ANY MAJOR WARM-UPS GOING FORWARD WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING BIT OF A CHILL OUT THERE. WE’RE TALKING UPPER 30S LOW 40S FOR THE MOST PART RIGHT AROUND 42 IN DOWNTOWN. LOUISVILLE WOULDN’T BE A BIT SURPRISED THOSE VERY VERY LOW SPOTS THE SHELTERED LOCATIONS. THERE COULD BE ISOLATED POCKETS OF LIGHT FROST IN THE MORNING. OTHERWISE WE START OFF WITH MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES, AND AS WE PUSH TOWARDS MIDDAY IN THE AFTERNOON. YEAH A COUPLE OF CLOUDS WILL TRY TO FORM AND MOVE IN FROM THE NORTH AND NORTH WEST. WE’LL CALL IT A MIX OF CLOUDS AND SOME SUNSHINE TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT IT’S BE A BREEZY SOMEWHAT COOL DAY. THIS IS WELL BELOW AVERAGE BY ABOUT 10 DEGREES OR SO UPPER 50S TO NEAR 60 AND EVEN 60 ANTICIPATED FOR THE METRO AREA. FRIDAY LOOKS QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL LOW IN MIDDLE 60S AND THEN HERE WE GO THE NEXT RAIN CHANCE UNFORTUNATELY TIMING NOT GOOD LOOKS LIKE IT’S GONNA BE MOVING IN FOR THE WEEKEND AND THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE A HEAVY RAIN EVENT, BUT IT’S GOING TO BE PERSISTENT LIGHT RAIN JUST KIND OF OF MOVES THROUGH THE AREA. DURING THE DAY SATURDAY AND EVEN A LINGERING CHANCE ON INTO SUNDAY AFTERNOON AS WELL. ALL RIGHT, SO HERE’S OUR FORECAST FAIR SKIES QUIET AND CHILLY 42 IN THE CITY SOME UPPER 30S IN THE OUTLINE REGIONS A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS FOR TOMORROW AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 60 SEVEN DAY FORECAST 65 FRIDAY. THERE’S THAT CHANCE FOR A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT RAIN FROM TIME TO TIME SATURDAY EVEN A COUPLE OF LINGERING SHOWERS SUNDAY AND THEN RICK WE WILL DRY IT OUT AS WE MOVE INTO EARLY. NEXT WEEK ON MONDAY. SO YES TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION FOR THE THUNDER FESTIVITIES KIND OF SCATTERED AROUND THE METRO SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THERE COULD BE A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT RAIN AROUND THE AREA. HMM. NOT GOOD.
