A Louisville family is calling on the police department and the community to help them find closure and justice for the death of their loved one.On Monday, Jessica Abernathy-Jones was found dead in her Bon Air apartment. Her family came together Saturday for a balloon release in her honor.Little is known about what happened to Jones but the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said she died from a gunshot wound. Now, her family is looking for the person responsible for pulling the trigger.”She was in that house for too long, by herself, alone,” said Tidshawnda Spence, Jones’ sister. “This right here is the start of it, releasing her spirit. God (has) her now. So our job down here on Earth is to find out who did it.”Investigators are looking into Jones’ death as a homicide.Anyone with information about her death is asked to call LMPD.
