NEXT WEDNESDAY PAST SEVEN YEARS WINE WOMEN IN SHOES HAS RAISED MORE THAN ONE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS TO SUPPORT FAMILY SCHOLAR HOUSE HERE IN LOUISVILLE, AND THE PANDEMIC DID NOT STOP THE TRADITION THIS YEAR. THE EVENT WAS A VIRTUAL PARTY TONIGHT. I HAD THE HONOR OF IM SEEING AGAIN AND BEGAN A NIGHT IN MY PANDEMIC PJS SUPPORTERS WATCHING AT HOME. HAD THE CHANCE TO BID ON A NUMBER OF AUCTION ITEMS INCLUDING A CAFE APPLIANCE DREAM KITCHEN AND TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS SHOPPING FREE THE FUN THE MISSION DONATIONS, EXCEEDED THIS YEAR’S GOAL FAMILY. SUPPORT SINGLE-PARENT STUDENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN WITH THE GOAL TO END THE CYCLE OF POVERTY THROUGH EDUCATION 279 FAMILIES CALL FAMILY SCHOLAR HOUSE HOUSE HOME ACROSS ITS FIVE CAMPUS. CAMPUSES WITH 590 GRADUATES THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM’S HISTORY ANYTHING THAT I WAS LACKING YOU I WERE RIGHT HERE TO FILL IN THE GAP. I AM SO GRATEFUL BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I WOULDN’T BE WHERE I AM. 2021 Wine, Women & Shoes goes virtual; how to donate if you missed this year’s event

Every year, Wine, Women & Shoes raises money for Family Scholar House here in Louisville, and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic didn’t stop the tradition this year.The event moved to a virtual format for Friday’s fundraiser and also went a little less formal. WLKY’s Vicki Dortch returned as emcee, beginning the night in her “pandemic PJs.”But that wasn’t her only outfit.The WLKY evening anchor had a few wardrobe changes throughout the night. People watching from home had the chance to bid on a number of auction items, enjoyed some performances and heard messages from guests.Those messages included the stories of families who have been helped by Family Scholar House, an organization devoted to ending poverty and empowering families and youth.The Louisville organization provides programs and services to meet the needs of families or individuals of all ages.If you missed Friday’s Wine, Women & Shoes, you can still donate to the cause.
