There was plenty of reaction on Sunday as a result of the news that trainer Bob Baffert’s Medina Spirit failed a drug test after the Kentucky Derby last weekend. Medina Spirit won the race, giving Baffert his record-breaking 7th Derby victory. Should Medina Spirit have a second positive drug test, he risks being disqualified from the race. 2011 Derby-winning trainer Graham Motion shared his thoughts on Twitter Sunday afternoon:”I would like to be optimistic about our sport but today we are an embarrassment. For anyone that loves the sport as much as I do it’s a sad day.”Motion won the 2011 Kentucky Derby with Animal Kingdom.
